Lip Comarella

Art Director/Visual Development Artist

Lip Comarella was born and raised in the heart of the Alps, in the far north of Italy. Now he is based in Los Angeles, United States where he works for Netflix Animation. Lip is a multiple award-winning visual development artist and animation director. He has been working with Simon Griesser for almost 10 years and together they founded the interdisciplinary storytelling studio Salon Alpin. With Simon they form a directing duo for Passion Animation UK.

Lip is focused on emotional storytelling and on the principles of simple and clear communication. In recent years, his projects have won awards such as the Annie Award, multiple the Apple Design Award, Cannes Gold Lions and Red Dot Awards.
