THIS COURSE IS IN DEVELOPMENT
This introductory course to Unreal Engine will transform any user with zero experience to a complete beginner level power user with a solid understanding of the fundamental basics of working in the Unreal Editor. You will learn how to create and setup a project, customize the user interface, prepare your own assets and import assets from external sources. We will cover viewport navigation, placing and manipulating actors, asset preparation, naming conventions and material creation. We will look into the PBR texture pipeline, what/how/why we use the different types of textures and how they get represented in Unreal. We will take a look into using the power of Blueprint’s to create a custom turntable showcasing an asset. Midway through the course we will shift into production mode and focus on creating a small scene fully assembled with basic lighting and post processing.
Clinton is the founder, studio head and creative director of Dekogon Studios, an artist collaborative art OS studio. Formerly a senior look development artist at Microsoft Studios: The Coalition located in Vancouver, BC, working on the Gears of War franchise. He has also previously work an artist at Bethesda Game Studios Austin, KIXEYE, Army Game Studio, and various other contract projects with independent studios. Clinton’s primary focuses are art direction, environment art, shaders, and visual development. His experiences range from AAA, Indie, and mobile development. In 2016 he released a textbook with Sam's Publishing with a focus on game art development for Unreal engine.
